Pre-lubed switches co-designed by Higround and TTC. This is a linear switch with a silver-plated spring. 23.5mm length, 1.6mm actuation point, 3.6mm of total travel, and 45 grams of downward force.
The Basecamp 65 keyboard employs mechanical switches with a fixed actuation point, meaning the trigger point is set and cannot be adjusted. Conversely, the Basecamp 65HE keyboard utilizes Hall-Effect switches, allowing for a dynamic actuation point that can be digitally configured anywhere along the key's travel path.
A 65% keyboard is a smaller version of a regular keyboard. It has most of the important keys, like letters, numbers, and arrow keys, but it doesn't have the number pad on the side or some extra keys at the top. It's popular because it's compact and easy to carry around, while still having the keys you need for typing and gaming.
See our quickstart guide page HERE.
The Basecamp 65 doesn't have F-keys to make the keyboard more compact and portable. This design saves space, making it easier to carry around and fit on smaller desks. Even without the F-keys, you can still access their functions using key combinations or software, so you don't lose any functionality.
The Basecamp 65 is fully Mac compatible. The Windows key on a Higround keyboard functions as the Command key on a Mac, and the Alt key functions as the Option key. You can remap these keys to match the Mac layout by going to System Preferences > Keyboard > Modifier Keys.
The Basecamp 65 keyboard is wired to ensure optimal performance in competitive and high-performance environments. Wired keyboards offer low latency, meaning there's minimal delay between pressing a key and the action happening on screen. Additionally, wired connections are less prone to interference from other electronic devices, ensuring a stable and reliable connection during intense gaming or professional use.
The Basecamp 65 comes with lubed switches, lubed stabilizers, and dampening materials in its frame. If you want to make it even more your own, you can swap out the keycaps, try different switch types like tactile or clicky ones, and add extra sound dampening materials. These tweaks can make the Basecamp 65 feel even more personalized and fun to use.
